Activities Conducted by Representative of Singapore to the AICHR

Youth Model ASEAN Conference (YMAC), 30 November 2013 
As Guest-of-Honour, Ambassador Chan delivered a well-received speech on ASEAN and the AHRD at the Official Opening Ceremony of YMAC 2013. Ambassador Chan also fielded questions from an audience which included participants from the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP) from the various ASEAN Member States.

EU Human Rights Day Seminar, 10 December 2013

Ambassador Chan delivered the closing remarks at the EU Human Rights Day Seminar: Contemporary Perspectives on Economic and Social Rights on 10 December 2013. The Seminar was organized by the Delegation of the European Union in Singapore to commemorate Human Rights Day, and featured speakers from the government, labour movement and civil society.

Business Against Trafficking in Persons Conference, 27 February 2014 

Ambassador Chan delivered the closing remarks at a multi-sectorial conference Business Against Trafficking in Persons (Biz@TIP) at the Singapore INSEAD campus on Thursday, 27 February 2014. The conference, which brought together government officials, business leaders and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), was organised by the Humanitarian Organisation for Migration Economics (H.O.M.E.) and the Singapore Committee for UN Women, in partnership with the Singapore Inter-Agency Taskforce on Trafficking-in-Persons. The conference aimed to engage the Singaporean business community to address the issue of human trafficking.
